not funny

so nick coached his soccer team today; they had a game. and he comes home and tells me:

"i made a few kids cry and three of them quit. so they told me not to bother coming back."

"what, what what??!!"

"yeah," he tells me, "they aren't serious enough players. so i yelled at them"

"they're KIDS," i say, horrified, raising my voice. "i can't believe you yelled at kids. it's just a game..." i babble on and on about how you have to nurture talent and teach someone to play, they just don't know it and on and on...

he lets me go on for a while and then calmly tells me,

"i was just winding you up. no one went home. they actually played quite well tonight, and we won the game."

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
