in which i get a compliment from a patient
i was bandaging someone's arm last night, and the guy doesn't talk much. in fact, he usually speaks in monosyllables. so i was very surprised when he said to me, "you've got good hands for that sort of thing," and then the told me he thought i was doing a very nice job.
it felt good to hear; when you are new at something you always wonder if you are doing a good enough job. last night was a pretty long shift, so it really brightened my night. :)
i really like nursing. it feels really good to do something that brings comfort and healing to someone, and know that your care can make a difference (for the better) in how they feel.
