Politics, bah!

I made the mistake of telling a staunch Democrate that I was listening to a great talk show on the radio. The convo went something like this:
Cautiously, he says, "Ahhh, what show is that?"
I say, "The Michael Medvid show, its really good..."
He starts to look worried. "It's not one of those right-wing talk shows is it?"
"Um... yeah," I answer.
He winces. "Oh, no, I can tell now, you're voting for Bush," he says, in a tone that indicates I'm a complete lost cause.

I guess all you have to do to scare a democrat today is chant, "four more years!" The thought really frightens 'em.

Well, if I could figure out what was actually true in the mess of this campaign, I might actually WANT to vote.

I think we should have a woman for president, then everything would be run smoothly! :) That's all we gotta do... we multi task much better than men, it's a proven fact. Just ask a man what multi tasking is and he'll panic at the thought.

oh well, I'm off, enough of my thoughts for today.

what fun...

so I've learned a few things in my long posting absence. Number one being the fact that I can't type the correct words and I look like an atrocious speller. *sigh*

Number two is... ummm... I forgot already.

Well, I do have good news, though. Nick and I were FINALLY able to sign the papers on the house -- loan was approved, everything just needs to be finalized so that's being done now.

House is really great - Ten acres, lots of fruit trees, a big old country house. Everything I've always wanted in a house. And... the best part is, its not a fixer-upper, like most of the houses I've grown up in. :)
Life is good. It's not cool when your house is so old and dilapidated that people actually ask you if your house is really haunted...

I said yes once. The little snot nosed brat's mom called my mom, and I got in trouble for trying to scare the neighbor kids.

I should have told him that the ghosts at my house did terrible things to tattletales...

But alas, this is about mine and Nick's house. I've got all the colors picked out, and am really excited over all the plans I have for decorating. It's not too girly, either, so I think Nick will like it, too. :)

Other than that, I've been dead tired, trying to get everything done, and working both jobs. Not getting as many hours as I'd like at new job, actually -- but they have me only working a few hours each day, so I haven't really had any days off. Got brave enough to tell my boss that I REALLY needed more hours, that coming in for two hours a day was basically a waste of gas (since I have about 25 miles one way to go). I got the old "we're doing what we can, stick with us," speech... but I've been getting that for a month now. He says this as he's hiring three people. *sigh*

Since I'm so tired, and constantly seem to be running, it sure would be nice to have the money to show for it. :P However, don't worry, I didn't say that to him -- I'm not that cheeky. :P

For those of you that I'd mentioned it too, my cousin Jessica just had her surgury today, and is in critical care, but her surgury was successful it sounds like, so that's good. Please keep her in your prayers though.

Well, I"m done with work in about an hour and a half, then I'm going home and crashing into bed. It's been a very long day.

coffee, please!!!! Yesterday I felt like a hamster on a wheel, going round and round frantically trying to get ahead. Hmmmmm...So anyway, yesterday I had to have the dog in by 8ish to get his hair cut, then I went to drop off my film from my trip to England (Finally!) and called my mom on speaker phone while i was driving. Mom informs me that I've left my wallet at home. I think she's joking. She's not. I have to go to work, so we figure out that my dad, who has to go to work as well, can leave it in his car (at his work), and I can go get it after MY work. I drop off the film by 9:30 or so at the 1 hour photo at Shopko, and go to work. I am done at 1pm, so go pick up the wallet and go to the store for my pics. They aren't done. Right...So, I go to pick up the dog (who of course is in the next town -- about twenty miles away). But it's hot in the truck, and I can't leave him in there while I pick up pics. So I pick up my pal Kate, who dog-sits while I run into the store, cuz I can leave truck running with A/C that way. :PThey also happen to have a 50% sale on wicker baskets and there is only ONE that I want. ONE. But I can't find it -- anywhere. Of course. So I get my pics and Kate and I oooh and ahhhh over the UK. Then, we have to go to Pet-Co, which allows pets, and Monty promptly pees on the floor. *sigh*AFter we leave (I spent waaay too much there), we take him back to Kate's house. Her mom is watching her son, and her son wants to babysit Monty. MOnty loves the attention. We are going to go to Wal-Mart, but don't make it there, because Becky wnats to meet us at the bridal shop to get fitted for her dress, and order it. So we run to KFC first and Becky beats us there. She's wondering what the hold-up is. I'm guiltily stuffing my face, but it's so good, so we're about five mins late to meet her at Bridal shop. Get that done, and go to the Western store to find the guy's shirts. We find those and order six. Then Becky mentions that her brother wants me, that artist, to paint the numbers and lettering on his car. It's only 9pm, why not? I get home at midnight, but I still have to clean the fishtank... which takes a while. Kate helps me, but then I have to take her back home and so I don't get back to MY house til 4am. At which time, I crash...
